2022 Open House
Manhattan, KS, April 21, 2022 – Manhattan Area Technical College hosted its spring Open House event on April 21, which welcomed over 500 grade school and adult learners.
The Open House event was open to prospective students, their families, and the community and featured students from nine programs as they displayed their skills to showcase what they have learned over the last year as MATC students.
The event also included campus tours, faculty presentations, and onsite staff who were available to answer questions and help students apply to the college.
“Open House is always a fun and popular event for visitors, faculty, and staff,” said Neil Ross, Dean of Student Services. “The event is a unique way to showcase the opportunities students can have at Manhattan Tech while encouraging young minds to learn more about the possibilities of their future,” he continued.
After the Open House event, MATC hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new FESTO Industrial Engineering Technology Lab, which will offer students a hands-on learning experience as they use multiple power sources to control systems, including robotics and production lines.
The first cohort will begin in fall 2022, with students having the opportunity to test for FESTO industry credentials while earning an associate’s degree from MATC.
